Description:
Atorvastatin is mainly used for reducing cholesterol and fat levels to prevent heart attack, heart pain, chest pain and strokes by using diet, weight loss and exercise together.
Atorvastatin works by slowing down production of cholesterol to decrease cholesterol that builds up on walls on arteries
Common side Effects:
- pain across your body e.g muscles, bones and joints
- nausea/upset stomach
- Painful urination
- trouble sleeping
- Diarrhoea
You should not take this medicine if you have liver disease and cirrhosis as this can lead to kidney disease
Ask doctor before taking
Store in Room Temperature
Atorvastatin is taken once a day with or without food
Take atorvastatin on an empty stomach 1 hour before your meal or 2 hours after your meal
avoid drinking alcohol this can increase risk of liver disease
and grapefruits this can lead to side effects
Please avoid eating foods with high cholesterol
