Amoxicillin is sometimes combined with potassium clavulanate, amoxicillin works by
Fighting the bacteria and the potassium clavulanate prevents specific bacteria becoming
resistant to amoxicillin
side effects
nausea, vomiting ,diarrhoea and rash
severe side effects
call the doctor immediately if you have
allergic reactions to amoxicillin e.g.
breathing problems, swelling on the face or throat,
severe skin reactions e.g.
fever, burning eyes, sore throat, skin pain, red or purple rash with blistering and peeling
amoxicillin can cause diarrhoea which can lead to new infections call a doctor if diarrhoea is watery or bloody
Do not use amoxicillin:
If you are allergic to the ingredients of amoxicillin
If you are allergic to cephalosporins
If you have asthma, ,kidney/liver disease, bleeding/blood clotting and other allergies
Amoxicillin can make birth pills less effective(
Amoxicillin can cause diarrhoea
May not be safe for breast feeding

How to take
If tablet is chewable chew the tablet
The regular tablet swallow whole do not chew
If you are taking amoxicillin with clarithromycin or lansoprazole to treat stomach ulcer, use all of the medications and follow doctors advice
Use medicine for whole prescribed length of time
Skipping doses can lead to more infections
Amoxicillin does not treat a viral infection or a common cold
Do not share medicine with any other person and with same symptoms as you
Store at room temperature keep away from light, moisture and heat
If you miss a dose ,skip the missed dose, do not double dose
